OUR HEAD CHEF
We would like to introduce to you our new head Chef Nathan Street. Nathan is a former Royal Navy Petty Officer Chef. He rose to the full heights of what a Navy Chef can do, with his last two posts where he was personal chef to the UK Military Representative to NATO in Brussels and personal chef to the Vice Chief of Defence Staff in London.
Over an exciting and rewarding 22 year career, Nathan cooked for Ambassadors, foreign dignitaries, high ranking officials and members of the Royal Family.
He is extremely passionate about sourcing the best local and seasonal produce and has the ability to cater for large numbers of guests whilst maintaining consistent quality. Nathan is more than capable of cooking not just English dishes but also speciality dishes from all over the world. He has a love of Indian cuisine, so prepare to enjoy one of his Curry Buffet nights coming soon.
Nathan retired from the Navy and went travelling the world, where he wanted to work in restaurants expanding his vast experience of cooking with spices, before returning home and opening his own restaurant. However, Covid hit and he had to return home from India. Due to a personal family connection, The Great Lyde have been extremely lucky to entice such a great chef to our restaurant and we are very excited about what this will offer us and our customers and also excited about what the future holds.
